White Gold Rolex Watch

For so many of us a gold watch is a status symbol.  I mean, so very many of the best designer watches are crafted in gold with the precision of Swiss quartz movements. The higher we climb on the corporate ladder, the more expensive those gold watches become.  If you are anyone who knows anything at all about success then you surely sport a Rolex gold watch.   But for me a gold watch is memories.

When I was little my father used to come home from work and pull his pocket watch out of his pocket and ask “What time is it?”  And being his precious little girl, his only little girl I might add, I would proudly exclaim, “Time for a kiss.”  He would gather me in his arms and give me a twirl and a great big kiss on the cheek.   Then he would unclip his watch fob and let me dangle his gold watch and say “Watch the watch, watch the watch.”  I would giggle, he would laugh and that was our nightly ritual.

I don’t know where the time went, that kind of time can’t be measured by Swiss gold watches, but it surely passed and I grew too big to be twirled and tousled. Somewhere in the back of my head I still equate his lovely gold watch with love and safety.  Nothing is safer than being held in the strong arms of a loving father.

Now, so very many years later my grandchildren want to buy me a special present and all I can think of is one of those lovely gold watches.  They ask me if I want a Cartier rose gold watch or a Tissot gold watch bracelet.  Perhaps I would like a Rolex ladies diamond watch.  And I tell them that any watch at all, any gold watch is what I want.  It doesn’t have to be a luxury gold watch.  I don’t need one of the best designer watches.  I only need a lovely gold watch that will whisper stories of love each and every time I glance at it, knowing that it was a gift of love from them to me.

If you are looking to give someone you love a gift to remember you by, give them a watch.  We all need to check the time occasionally and when they do they will see the gift that you gave them in love.  A gold watch is more than a piece of jewelry, even if it’s a fine piece, one of the best designer watches…  A watch will be looked at so many times throughout the day and it will be a constant reminder of someone who loves them so very much.  By giving them a gold watch you are giving them golden memories.
